My Rose Print Dress
Floral prints have been
everywhere since spring, from bright, bold designs to festival style and
vintage fabrics.
This rose print dress
from H&M is my favourite, in a moody mix of black and dark red; it is perfect
for going from day to night with a couple of accessory changes. Swap sandals
for heels and add a statement necklace, keeping colours limited as the print is
quite busy.
The button through front
makes it a really versatile piece, which can be worn completely done up over a
dress, or more undone for a more casual look. Here I have chosen to pair it
with leggings and a black cropped top, and the print is the star of an otherwise plain outfit. As a short person (I’m 5”4),
I find it is best paired with heels as it was definitely created for
non-vertically challenged beings. This said, wearing a long garment really helps
with the illusion of height and at mine, that’s always a massive plus point.
I also really like the
feel of the fabric and the movement makes you feel like a model in front of an
electric fan, when a breeze catches the skirt. Though it is a sheer fabric, it
is not brazenly so and the subtlety adds to the elegance of the piece.
